Today I was driving up to Hobcaw Barony, and I stopped for the first time at the McClellanville Diner. I think I arrived a bit after closing time, but they waved me on in anyway - and I'm happy they did. One BLT, side of cole slaw, and unsweet iced tea later I was certainly glad that I had stopped, and will again. It seems that they are also open for breakfast (and sometimes dinner), and boy - they look like a great breakfast spot.

The diner is just what a diner should be - simple, clean, comfortable - a place that feels a little bit like home. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing it was a gas station originally, since you have to go outside to find the door to the restroom. I definitely got the sense that there are quite a few regulars, and with a sweet "have a good day" sign at the cash register, I can certainly see why.
